ben and jerry's, 20 scoops of ice cream, 4 bananas, 4 scoops of fudge, 10 toppings, me, and one hour. Im doing it with a bunch of friends, we're each getting one, seeing if anyone can eat it all, or who can eat the most. As much as i love going fast, sometimes the off season kicks ass too.

Probably less. Figure you can just assume that 95% of the calories come from the ice cream. A 1/2 cup of ice cream has about 300 calories (most are less). Each scoop of ice-cream is probably a little bigger. So even at 500 calories per scoop, it would be 10,000 calories or so. I bet that is about right... Sounds like a perfectly reasonable meal in my book...

If you ever get the chance to go to the Ben & Jerry's factory in the Mad River Valley, I highly recommend it. It is a lot of fun. The flavor graveyard is pretty funny...

Plus, it is a great area for riding, hiking, and just generally relaxing. There are great places to eat, neat craft fairs, and all sorts of good stuff.

Kurt-

You know I live 5 minutes from the Ben and Jerry's factory in Waterbury... come on over after Florida for a Vermontster....

Yeah the gaps are the real deal---Ap Gap, Lincoln Gap, Roxbury Gap, and don't forget the Bolton access road.

Spinn - Dude, my vote is definitely for that damn access road...and the greatest thing is that it sees like zero traffic non-ski season. You can ride up and down on the yellow for the most part. What a great lunchtime workout, you've got to get your office moved to Waterbury!

and instead of completely hi-jacking this thread...you are a freaking man if you can put down half of the Vermonster. Waay too many trips to B&J to count, everytime someone visits, I'm on that tour. Yeah...here's to living in Waterbury.

mmmmm ice cream. This is my nemisis. I could eat that much no prob. On a regular day I will have a Paderno mixing bowl (because anything else is too small) size of ice cream. Oh how I wish I lived closer to Stowe.

Two college stories:

In college, I entered a Vermonster eating contest with three teammates. We beat ten other teams with a time around 2 minutes.

Also in college, during fraternity meetings, we took the Vermonster bowl and filled it with beer, affectionately calling it the Brewmonster. Each week, one pledge had to finish the Brewmonster during the two hour meeting. It held about 15 beers.

Sounds good! After IMWIS I ate a pint of B&J for the first time in my life, and I plan to do the same after IMFL next weekend. But if I were closer to the Northeast, I would probably have to raise that goal!!

Hey Spinney,

I didnt realize that you read into this forum. How did you finish out the season? Im not sure if you heard that Dave G. is going to be back to IMLP this year. I was trying to figure out how I might be able to find a spot in there if I start doing some training. If you are over in the Maine area this winter, drop me a line. I am going to see if I can get some interest started in a ski-snowshoe duathlon series here for some winter training. Take care.
