Black Bar Tape.
Nothing looks worse that dirty white bar tape.

i was using simple green too but it never really did the trick ... then the other day i was at the bike shop and i saw this guy use white lightning on a rag and about 5 sec his 'grey' tape was white again.

wear gloves. it works. but I'm not saying it's the best way.

the only reason to use white bar tape in the first place is so that it gets dirty and at least gives the appearance that you ride a lot. If you clean it, then it looks like you have too much time on your hands and could be riding more. There are some things that are meant to be dirty and white bar tape is one them.
