help...i go to download it and sends a file to the desktop and asks me which application I want to use to open it. Any clues?

it is a windows media stream - you need to install the windows media player to watch it
the only reason you would need to install stuffit would be if you couldnt unstuff the install package

didn't mean to cause confusion.
you can down load the player directly from microsoft or any number of mirror sites.
just google "windows media player mac OS X"
