Help - Hed Aerobar or Oval Design bar users

I am wondering how low the 900 or Aero bar get you when measured against the top of a regular (not hiddenset) headset (no spacers). Assume a stem that is parallel with the ground.

To calculate that height you need to know the upper stack height of the headset (typical range is between 1.2 and 1.8cm) and the height of the stem (where it will clamp onto the steerer tube), plus the thickness of the base bar/height of pads over its midpoint..

Assuming a King headset (1.8cm), a Ritchey WCS -17 degree stem (stem height of about 4cm, divided by 2 to get a midpoint height of 2cm), and the height of the pads over the midpoint of the base bar (roughly 3.2cm on a HED) you get a height of 7cm (1.8 + 2 + 3.2 = 7) over the top of the headtube of the frame.

This of course assumes a 73 degree head tube. A more shallow head tube angle with increase the height of the bars.

Make sense?
