Anyone have any recommendations on places to stay out near Lake Mead...someplace clean and inexpensive, say $100 and under. Is Henderson close? BTW, no camping ; ) Gracias.

The best and only real option is staying at the host hotel. Unless you want to drive in from Vegas.

No, a bunch of us are coming out from Orange County for the Las Vegas International Triathlon on Sept 25th. It'll be my wife's last prep race before Kona...non-wetsuit, hot, and windy. Some friends are staying at Lake LV, but that looks a little pricey.

I'm an ex-local. Henderson is pretty close. I'd stay at Green Valley Ranch Station (in the District, in Henderson). This hotel is maybe 20 min from the race sight. Very nice. Great restaraunts within walking distance.

Not sure where on Lake Mead the tri is being held, but what about Boulder City? I recall driving through there on the way to Vegas, and I know I saw hotel/casinos there.

The following places are within 10-15 minutes of the race course:

Fiesta Henderson (Cheap and good eats)

Green Valley Ranch (Expensive, VERY hot cocktail waitresses and good eats)

Sunset Station (mid-priced and good eats. Love the center bar there)

Hope this helps. Actually, come to think of it, they are all owned by one company - Station Casinos.

(For proprietary sake, I want to make sure you are aware that I do not work for Station Casinos in any way, shape, or form.)

Good luck.
