cassette question

How can I tell the gearing on my cassettes? I have the gearing that was came stock on both tri and road bikes and I don't know what they are. Is there a stamping or writing somewhere? I have shimano if that matters. Thanks.

Yep, get out those eye glasses old man ;-) .

For DA10-->Take the wheel off your bike and put it on your desk or table. Look directly head on at the cassette. The gears are stamped on each gear near one of the teeth. So if you have a 11-23 cassette the 11 through 16 should have them stamped on the gears, you'll see a small 11T, 12T, and so on. Where as the latter cogs are printed on the flanges, the 17-19 and 21-23 are a bit difficult to see but they are printed in white....does this make any sense...just have a look around a little closer and you will see them..I promise ;-) .

If not, I am sure someone can clarify better than me. Good Luck.
