compact cranks and STI triple?
if you put a compact crank on a bike that currently has 105 STI triple, are they any shifter issues?

According to Slowman's article, your long cage rear der should be a benefit. I don't think the front der would cause many issues. The shifters will work fine since they are the same for doubles or triples. Just remember to adjust the height of the front der so that it moves the chain as needed. Heck go for it.

I couldn't get my triple front derr to work very well when I switched to compacts, so I put a standard Ultegra front derr on the bike. My LBS had an old corroded one lying around that I begged for (bought some inner tubes to make it up to them). I took it apart, cleaned it up and it works like new.

Rear derr. works perfecto as-is.
