Zero Gravity Brakes Squeaking
I have had a pair the last few months and the rear brake squeaks painfully loud with my carbon wheels (have carbon wheel brakepads). It appears there is no way to "toe in" the brake pads. Any other suggestions?

If you can use Corima pads, they work much better IMHO

Otherwise you can go the route I went with Zero-G ...

Installed new DA 7800s

You can buy pads which will allow toeing in. Dura ace for example which will take shimano or zipp carbon specific pads. You can also toe in the current pads the old fashsion way ie by slightly bending the brake arms, but I don't recommend it.

the pad holders have orbital adjustment (holders can swivel a few degrees, unlike 9s and earlier ShimaNO brake pad holders). that's how you toe the brake pads in.

you can just use a file to toe the pads.

Glad somebody with some G-2 piped in on this one. Seems rather obvious...

You brake calipers are toast. No need tyo try to fix, they're done. I'll take them off you hands when you throw them away.

Seriously though, some brakes come a little warped and you have to literally bend the calipers so that you can toe them properly. There is a tool that does this. However, ZG's are aluminum... not good to bend. I would consult ZG on the matter.

I can't think of a brake caliper that isn't aluminum that is currently produced for the cycling industry Storck and MAgura excluded.

Sampson does a carbon wrapped aluminum and there's some campy carbon stuff out there, not sure if they are in production.

the "carbon" wrapped aluminum is nothing more than an aluminum Tektro RX2.5 caliper with some fool's carbon dressing up the outside. You can toe them with a crescent wrench, but shouldn't have to as they are covered with a conical brake pad mount.

Campagnolo has never made a carbon brake caliper. SuperMario had some faux-carbon ones on a white cannondale that stayed in teh Saeco toolbox and reappeared on a Simoni bike a couple years later. They just have a carbon look, like the some aero helmets, sunglasses, and bikes have.

SuperDave:

Great advice, worked great. Sorry if the question seemed obvious to "TriBriGuy", I guess he's got alot of time on his hands to respond the way he did. Thanks again. I will say that I wish I kept my DA brakes.

I'm happy to have helped. And TriBriGuy has nothing on me in the jackass dept. I wrote the book and the sequel. I'm working on the parental book, "How to raise a jackass" right now.
