Richmond, VA Aquatics center Head Lifeguard position

The Greater Richmond Aquatics Partnership is a non-profit entity operating in Richmond, VA with a mission to elevate aquatics in the region. In April 2012 GRAP opened a 54,000 ft2 facility consisting of a 50 meter competition pool, 25 yard instructional pool, Hydroworx therapy pool, community and fitness rooms and a 700 seat grandstand. Four key areas highlight GRAP's mission; health and wellness, sports tourism, competitive swimming and water safety.

GRAP seeks part-time Head Lifeguard to assist the Aquatics Manager in over-seeing day to day operations.

Job Requirements
At least 18 years old
Lifeguard Certified with CPR for the professional rescuer, First Aid, and AED
Lifeguard Instructor certified is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively with patrons including parents, children, and funders
Demonstrates confidence in knowledge of safety, first-aid and lifeguarding practice
Demonstrates knowledge of pool maintenance and sanitation, and willingness to learn
Able to carry out water rescues
Takes initiative and prioritizes tasks
A team player that demonstrates a positive attitude and strong sense of customer service
Flexible and able to adapt to a developing and changing work environment
Confident leader expected to manage a team of lifeguards

Duties will include, but not limited to the following:
Opening/ closing the facility
Being responsible for building keys
Help with scheduling/ filling shifts
Serve as a liaison between the Aquatics Manager and lifeguards
Help organize and run in-service trainings
Assist the Aquatics Manager with facility

Salary will start at $13.00 per hour. All positions are part-time, averaging 30 hours per week. Three shifts are available: morning, mid-day, and evening. All shifts include rotating weekend hours.
