I've got a friend who has a son doing an internship this summer with a golf company in South Carolina. He needs a room to rent for the summer in the Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach area. Anyone live in the area know of a nice place for a college kids to stay this summer? Z

Don't know of any rooms, but Hilton Head is about as far away from Myrtle Beach as you can get and still be in South Carolina. It's a 3.5-4.0 hour drive between the two. Is he looking for two rooms, or planning on commuting between the two locales?
Hilton Head is much nicer, IMO. Myrtle Beach has devolved into redneck tourism hell. And yes, I am originally from South Carolina, have chewed tobacco, been to many a NASCAR race, own plenty of guns and drive a truck - so I know a redneck when I see one.

I think his internship has him traveling to golf courses throughout South Carolina, so I think he want to stay close to the water. Z
