Acupunture in C-bus
I'm searching for a reliable acupunturist in the Columbus, Ohio metro area for treatment of low back pain not associated with any type of underlying pathology. The patient has been through all types of test and specialists. X-rays and MRI's show nothing. Pain is in the extreme lower lumbar area. If anyone has any other suggestions...feel free....thanks

Before you do the human voodoo doll thing. I would check out a guy named Kim Hooper D.O. on Cleveland Ave. up near Westerville. He's a D.O. that specializes in lower back and manipulations. I used to be plagued with lower back pain and alignment problems. I have been pain free for 2 years. This guy is a awesome. He's a motivated to get you fixed because, he's a D.O #1 and #2, he doesn't need anymore patients. He doesn't add you to his weekly payroll either. In fact, you may have to white lie it a bit to see him. Say your at the end of your rope and your a friend of Buzz Wentz and you have to see him! Everyone that I have sent his way has thanked me.

My suggestion is try to find a Chinese classically trained doc. We have one in our area who was trained in China and some of his results have been excellent, although like everything else, it doesn't always work for everyone. I'm a chiropractor and although I've taken a few acupuncture courses, I'd much rather refer out to somone with much more experience in this area. The problem is that there are organizations offering acupuncture certifications to MD's. DO's, DC's, etc. who will give you a very impressive looking diploma, but how much will you really know from a certification that takes four weekends? IMO acupuncture has a lot to offer, but you've got to find someone who is properly trained and knows what they're doing.
