421 entries in the M35-39!...damn, that's a lot. Must be pretty disheartening to finish in the top 3-4% of your age group and not get a Kona slot.

Guess I better enjoy my last year in the M30-34.

The more people in the AG the more spots, so the fact that your AG has more people makes it no more or less difficult to get a spot.

I am in the same boat. M35-39 and just a few weeks away from upping into the 40-45 category. Next month I do St. Croix, which will be 5 days shy of my 40th. I am still hopeful of qualifying though.
