and SCAQ (Masters) http://www.swim.net/scaq both use the pool in the mornings, so open lap swim may be limited. check the schedules.

OK, I'll talk. There's usually 3-4 LCM lanes available for open swim Tues and Thurs. mornings. If you get there right at 5:30, I think all 8 LCM are open for at least 30 minutes. Expect anywhere from 2-5 people per lane. It sounds like a lot, but with wide long course lanes, it's not a problem. I had a lane to myself yesterday for about a half hour. And don't worry, you won't be the worst one there. The masters/swim club lanes, on the other hand, are packed like sardines. I did hear a rumour, though, that LA Tri might start showing up for open swims until the ocean gets warmer (and cleaner after rainy season). See you there. I'll be the guy with the pull buoy!
