Hed H3 @ Analytic Cycling
I've been contemplating an H3 front for my TT bike. After price searching on the web I find prices for this wheel to be mostly in the mid 500 range (or more!). A couple of places, Analytic Cycling amoung them, have the wheel in the 450's. My question: Are these wheels seconds, or out of "true," or do they have some other kind of defect to justify this price? Or is this just really a good deal? Thanks for any help.

That price is good but not the best I've seen on the web. HED will normally reject and not sell any wheel that is more than a little out of true. The only place I have seen wheels like you describe is being sold on EBay by HED and they always listed the reasons for the item being sold.

I got a new H3 two years ago for 389 from lickbike.com. I think you can credit the incredibly shrinking value of the dollar for the price increases since they are all imported from Spain.

go to R&A cycles steals and deals page- you can get your hands on a NOS specialized version of the H3, even with the cooler graphics used in the last year of produciton for like $200-300 or so. Same wheel, alot cheeper than a new HED
