Despite, an exciting and very even first half at the Stadt France, Wales came out fighting and running the ball to a 18-24 victory. The debutant Julien Laharrague produced some excellent runs on the wing shruggung off tacles in full flight, sadly the Welsh always seemed to answer, when questioned, with points from the boot and with tries. At 77:38 the French looked to have a comeback in their sights with the put in 3 yards from the Welsh line but bungled the release from the try and thus gifting the victory and the only remaining unbeaten record to the Welsh!
