wide pelvis = wide BB?

Im a big guy and i suppose i have a wider than normal pelvis. should i have a wider BB? when you watch me ride from behind.. as you are want to do.. my feet look rolled out. my cleats are set way to the inside so that my stance is as wide as possible. my coach suggested that i need to build up my cleat with some washers. a bit like having an orthotic. has anybody seen this. can i get a wider BB thingy?

Cranksets vary in the Q-factor, how wide apart the pedals are, so you can try to find a wider set. Or better yet get some kneesavers pedal axle extenders - http://www.bikescor.com/product/knee.htm
You can get them in Ti too if you don't want to add too much weight. Once your legs are going straight down from your hips it should correct or prevent other biomechanical problems. You will be slightly less aero but should feel more powerful and stable.

Shimming your cleats is fixing the symptom rather than the cause of your feet rolling.
