SuperGo has Time Equipe Magnesium pedals, originally about $259 retail, for $79 a pair.

To bad they are the "Impact" ones...if they were the old old ones I would be all over that.

I guess that tells you the value of Impacts when the used old time pedals sell more than brand new ones.

Hey Tom,

What is your take on the new craze about composite pedals?

Look and Time recently brought out models with a composite body. I am not a Material Sciences engineer, but I would imagine that the contact areas on the pedal undergo significant wear due to all the grit and sand entering the space between cleat and pedal body.

I am a little bit weary to buy into the durability of those constructions. However, plastic pedals make sense in the respect that they do scratch very easily (I always hated painted pedal bodies). Scratches would not be such big a deal, as long as the composite body would not be compromised.

Would appreciate any opinion....

As a new owner of the Titan RSX pedals I agree 110%, I cant imagine the pedal body surviving a moderate crash.
