dont go to coffee plus in taupo for food. i just went there for the first time and their prices are a fucking ripoff.

Dude.... all cafe prices in NZ are a ripoff.
Well compared to north america anyways.
For some reason I got used to paying $3 for a coffee.
Just takes a bit.
I could never understand the cost of eating out ANYWHERE in NZ. $26 was considered a reasonable price for a main dish. F--- that! We ate Thai all the time cuz it was relatively cheap at ~$12-14. I only pay $7 for the same dish here in Canada though.

never been to burburys. im not reallyt a cafe dweller but i have to say it reminds me of an unclassy american diner.

But if you are stopping in Auckland overnight go to Thai Hut, in the Remuera shops. It is owned and run by a friend of mine, Jameela. If you tell her you know Patrick she will give you a discount (off already cheap prices). And the food is sensational....
