Closest I can think of is one in Galveston (200 to 300 miles away) on April 4th.

I've competed in and can recommend both the Boerne (near San Antonio) Tall Man and Dallas TexasMan (to be called Prairieman next year) Half-Iron triathlons. Both are held in early September and professionally run. The Boerne course is more difficult with hills on the run. Dave Scott was special guest host for the Dallas TexasMan this year. Good luck.

IronStar in Lake Conroe just north of Houston is around Oct 24. Bike and run are on rolling hills. Weather is good. RD does a great job.

It takes place in Boerne, TX, which is about 25 miles Northwest of San Antonio.

What's a good place to swim in Austin? How's the pool at Stacie park?

Stacy Pool is great in the Winter time. Ii can be crowded during peak times...lunch and dinner time. Sometimes instead of cleaning the pool it seems like they just dump more chlorine in. Maybe I'm just spoiled from swimming in the springs. The best places to swim outside in Austin are Barton Springs Pool and Deep Eddy Pool. They are both spring fed pools with constant water temps year round. I think around 68 or 69. Deep Eddy is closed right now for renovations but Barton Springs is open...if you can take the cold water in the winter time. You can google either of these to get more info and directions.

Thanks.

I live in Austin and have swum in Barton Springs several times, but only in the summer, and after running the greenbelt. Haven't tried the 68 degree water in the winter time yet. The only time I've tried to go to Deep Eddy it was closing, but it seems nice.

Just throw on the wetsuit. That's what I used to do.
