Carnac TRS8 - Anyone try these yet?

Kurt Kinetic vs. Cycleops Fluid 2 - Is there a big difference in performance/features? i noticed that you can pick up a power meter for the kinetic, that might be worth paying the extra $....

a budget is preventing a computrainer for at least 6 months.

thanks,dave

Kinetic, all the way. Do a search here for "Kurt Kinetic" and you'll see why. The only other trainer in the same league is the 1-Up (which I have no experience with, but have heard very good things about). Kurt also has their power computer (power accurate only while on the trainer) for $50. It was calibrated with a PowerTap, and for the price, can't be beat. Review forthcoming.

The TRS8 is the only tri shoe in the Carnac line to have the reverse-oriented strap. I have no idea why they don't implement this in the rest of their TRSn line, but for some reason they just don't. I don't believe it has a carbon sole, but it seems pretty stiff by my in-store "flex test". Never ridden it.
