Maybe The Cities Know Something We Don't (My Final Electoral Map....I Promise!!)

This one really serves to illustrate the stark differences in the Bush/Kerry divide:

Makes sense, huh?

Don't forget Subaru Forester drivers with Kerry/Edwards bumberstickers and what looks like the terror threat colour scheme sticker on the back. :-)

Ahh.....sarcasm. I love it. Actually, I've lived in or near big cities or metropolitan areas my whole life (growing up in Detroit in the 60's and 70's, I certainly saw my share of unrest ;-), and I've yet to meet the so-called "crack whore" or "welfare mom". What I have met are individuals, who through cirmcumstances sometimes not entirely under their control, find themselves in a bad way.

These people need help, a lot of which can't be provided by an uncaring, gargantuan bureaucracy which cares not a whit for their individual problems, just that they take their government-issued cheese and go away.

What's wrong with having a community and faith-based component (note I said component, and did not mention "exclusive") to charity and social services? From my recent study, I've found that charity-based giving by individual Americans last year totaled 300 BILLION dollars. Indeed, we're the most charitable country in the world, right now.

But invective and a stubborn refusal to concede even the slightest point is what separates those on both ends of the political spectrum from the vast majority of the people in the middle.

Screw it. I've had an awakening.

Red states are receiver states for tax dollars. I'm more than happy to oblige their wishes for getting rid of 'socialism' as they call it.

I'm in the top tax bracket, this is good news for me.

Let the churches take care of people.

I'm in the top tax bracket, also. I don't see what that has to do with an intelligent debate about the role of non-governmental organizations in our social services.

Also, nothing in this world is black and white (just red and blue, it seems like ;-). It seems as if your antipathy towards religous-based social service demonstrates a wider intolerance or uneasiness by the left with anything tinted by religion.

We're not officially "post-Christian", yet. It took Europe 2 centuries to achieve that. And we'll both be long dead and in our graves before this country comes even moderately close to being so.

You should accept it and learn to deal with the objective reality, not rail and weep and investigate ways of moving to Canada or New Zealand or something. Good lord, I wonder what some of these people would do if something really catastrophic or earth-shattering happened in their lives.

I'm serious. I'm going full-bore libertarian on your asses.

I only want my tax money being used to protect my constitutional rights and defend the country.

It won't help. Let me see if I can post a few pics here that'll help drive him completely over the edge ;-))

It's the well-educated and minorities versus the red necks ;-)

That's one possible reason, though I don't know too many "red-necks" and I have a couple of master's degrees and a JD ;-)

I'm probably just a Hawaii version of "The Manchurian Candidate", though. Probably from when I dated a ultra-liberal leggy blonde back when I lived in Connecticut ;-))

There's an exception to every rule ;-)

It was important to give a counterpoint to the "crack whore" post though!

I find ultra-liberal leggy blondes always more fun then their conversative counterparts.
