Nearly embarrassed to ask the question as I've fixed my own bike for 25 years....
I have a Felt F1x (custom build...non factory) with a Cane Creek Aheadset (Integrated...whatever that means these days). I popped it apart b/c something wasn't feeling right.
To my shock, the headset has bearing RACES in it. The top race was basically non-existent and the bottom race was nasty. It was my assumption that all Aheadsets had "sealed" bearings rather than old fashioned ball bearing races.
So..the question is. Can I retrofit sealed bearings into an integrated headset that used bearing races? Do I need a totally new assembly or can I buy these a la carte?
Any tips or pointers?
