Charity to sponsor.

I love the idea of http://www.operationac.com/. Having been deployed forward in the desert a cool spot would have raised my spirits.

I nominate Operation AC as the charity.

Anyone second?

Consider is seconded. I've never been a soldier, and would make a lousy one at that - but it sounds like a worthy cause to me.

D'oh. Okay, thirded then.

Anything to lend a hand to those folks over there and/or their familes here at home as well is just fine.

Anyone know of a foundation that gives to the children of service members KIA? That would be a nice one! Don't see too many of them publicised so it might be a great candidate and in need.

Special Operations warrior foundation gives money to children of special operations personnel killed in combat or training. Mainly for college and other educational costs.
