The fastest recorded time up L'Alpe d'Huez was 37'35 by Pantani. These times are at the conclusion of a mountain stage. In other words, the climb occured after ~4 hours of riding.

I don't think the start is exactly at the bottom of the climb so the finishing times will be a bit longer.

My pick is Armstrong and he will finish the climb in just under 37 min.

BTW: Ullrich was second to Pantani in 97 losing 47 seconds so you can slot him in as the 3rd fastest up the climb at 38:22.

Yeah, something being left off of the list are the riders who finished 2nd, 3rd etc... only seconds or a close minute behind. Regardless, I get the point, but because there is about a 1000 meter lead up to the hill, I'd say the winning times will be very close to the current records for the top GC's. I'd like to be wrong here for sure and see some amazing fast times though.
