Lets say from the bridge, how long has it taken you to drive there in the past, mapquest says something like 9hrs 45min true?

I am leaving for LP in about an hour...
I can tell you its about 7.5 hours from my home, which is about 30 minutes east of Cleveland. So, I don't know if you've made the Detroit-Cleveland drive, but 90 minutes seems right.
You'll make it to Buffalo and then Waterton and think you're making great time. But once you get on to Route 3, things really slow down. It's a 2-lane highway, and you pass through every small town. Nice drive, but long. The last 120 miles takes at least 3 hours.
You may have also noticed that Yahoo! maps suggests a route whereby you take I-90 all the way to Albany, then head north on 87 to Lake Placid. It might be freeway the whole way, but I think it's about 60 miles longer. I've never gone this route -- considered it for this year, but in the end decided to do the more direct route again.
