This was posted the day after or so it happened. The post included a link to the local paper's article detailing the incident. You could find it by doing a Slowtwitch search for Cody Smith.
For the record, Cody Smith is expected to make a full recovery. He was quoted as saying he is looking forward to riding again when he is well. It sounded like he would be off the bike most of the summer or longer but expected to be riding strong again next year.
