He works at a newspaper. They probably work during the night, so he has the day off (this is pure guessing).

He may work one day during the weekend and have Thursday off too.

Even better than that ... he works at USA Today!!! Plus, he's Circulation Manager:

"Did all those papers get delivered??? Did you have enough??? Do you need any extra tomorrow??? Okay, thanks." Repeat as needed.
