Is Kane Macherbe, winner of the Musselman Half-IM, a professional? Does anyone know?

He's also a hell of a nice guy. In one of his emails, Jeff the RD asked for a volunteer to drive Kane from the airport in NYC to the race. My buddy Drew volunteered, so we all hung out together at the pre-race dinner.
After Kane won, he stood by the finishing shoot to wait (which was a fairly significant amount of time) until Drew and I crossed the line, and gave us both high-fives. Great guy. Also the consumate pro -- despite swimming off course a few times (so far off course that a kayak had to turn him around), he never bitched once post-race.
