What is the deal with 'Pete's coffee'
Pete's coffee is getting about as much free publicity as Trek during this tour. Pete is the guy that taught Starbuck's how to burn the beans instead of roast them. Can't stand that stuff...

It's Peet's coffee and though I don't drink much coffee anymore, the difference in quality is HUGE! (at least to some) Though I wouldn't really give a damn where I had a cup of coffee, I know several people that consider themselves coffee connoisseurs and they love Peet's and detest Starbuck's. I like both just fine, but Peete's is better in my opinion.

I lived in Berkeley when I started to drink coffee. When you start with Peets it's hard do be satisfied with anythisg else. It's like beer. Bud or C'oors will do if thats all you have but a Sierra Nevada or a good home brew is so much better that there not in the same catigory.

Good lord. Not sure you can say that out loud. Have you been struck by lightning or are you still standing?

Peet's is the Ferrari of coffees. Starbucks sucks.

Mmmmmmm... Sierra Nevada...

Never had Peet's. Never heard of Peet's. Although, I'm from Dallas, so if it's a NoCal thing, I'm not surprised. Also, I do not pretend to be a coffee connaisseur. I just drink what I can find.

It's all a No Cal thing. But were not like So. Cal, we don't make a big deal out of it. I went to Chico State, home of Sierra Nevada so that's the beer I drank. If you drink Sierra Nevada think of it this way.

Peet's House blend = SN Pale Ale

Peet's Mojor Dickison's closer to the SN Bigfoot

It's hard to go back after you have had something that good.

Peet's is pretty darn good coffee. It's certainly the best coffee you can find in a grocery store aisle. I prefer to buy my beans from the corner cafe which does their own roasting, but in a pinch when I have to buy coffee from the grocery store it's Peet's all the way.

I agree with M.S.kansan that Peet's over-roasts their beans. Not as badly as Starbucks does, but over done nonetheless. I'll pass, thank you.

Truly the best way to appreciate any cup of coffee is to drink one cup a day of the crap they serve in the office. After that, anything will taste great. Oh wait, the crap in the office is Starbucks... nevermind.
