THE BALCO REGIMEN

Among the documents the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency is sharing with targeted athletes is one that describes five-month indoor and outdoor track programs, costing $20,000 each, that Balco Laboratories prepared for clients. A source familiar with the case said the program was never fully implemented. The program and its proposed cost:

• G 20 weeks -- 15 bottles at $150. $2,250

• E 12 weeks -- 16 bottles at $65. $1,040---this is what folks believe Dan Emfied used 2 weeks prior to his Lake Tahoe results!!!!

• I 12 weeks -- 1 bottle at $100. $100

• C 15 weeks -- 45 doses at $25. $1,125

• E nutrition -- 12 weeks E, Fe, FA, B-12. $300

• Proquick -- 20 weeks. $840

• Proglycosyn -- 20 weeks. $200

• ZMA, Vitalyze, Tryosine -- 20 weeks. $500

• Blood testing -- $400/month. $2,000

• Urine testing biweekly -- 10 tests at $130. $1,300

Supply total: $9,655

Medical consultation: $10,345

Bonus for personal record: $10,000

Bonus for world record: $20,000

ABOUT THE SUBSTANCES

In alleging that athletes participated in a ``doping conspiracy . . . to trade in doping substances and techniques which were either undetectable or difficult to detail in routine testing,'' USADA gave athletes a list of what it believes are the code names for various drugs provided by Balco. For example, it believes THG is L, clear or C, and erythropoietin (EPO) is E.
