Yes.

I know. Most people would probably be very surprised, though, to learn that these young women are in fact twins. I was responding to Thom, who wrote that his uncle's dark hair and olive complexion, although born to two blonde parents, gives people in his family pause. I was just trying to illustrate that that in itself is no reason for suspicion.

Doesn't necessarily mean much. Would you believe that these girls are biological twins? (They are). The genetic determinants of hair and skin color are more complex than most people think, and freaky things can happen.

Are you referring to fraternal twins? Sisters aren’t expected to be identical.

I googled it and it turns out DNA testing shows them to have the same mother and father.

I have a friend who adopted twins with different fathers. But single mother, so no affair.

Care to explain that one?

When a man inserts his penis into a woman’s vagina and ejaculates, then the sperm can fertilize and egg if the woman ovulates or has ovulates recently . . .

Sometimes in rare occasions a woman ovulates more than once, which can lead to fraternal twins if she has sex around the same time. And sometimes that woman has sex with more than one man during that same time.

Any more Sex-Ed questions?

I get it. It was your "no affair" comment that threw me off.

DNA testing has brought some interesting things to light regarding a Dr. in Grand Junction. Allegedly, he was using his own sperm for anonymous donor fertility treatments. Here's where it gets more interesting, apparently, by law he was not required to disclose he was using his own sperm! He's being sued by at least 8 people so far.

I'm just glad it's an option now. I was adopted at birth and this past summer found out who my birth mother was. I will meet my first cousin (who was pretty much raised by my birth mother) next month when I go to LA for work.

I would believe that neither of these women are sporting their natural hair color. And one of them looks like she never sees the sun.
