Indianapolis: Great Tri community with races, ZIPP, Roarke custom Ti cycles, awesome tri shops like Carmel cycling and fitness, free training rides with roadies and triathletes, intervals and bricks, track workouts, masters swimming, you name it.

But, the city is still finding it's identity and it's growing. Hard to ride a bike in the suburbs around the beltway (where most of us live unfortunately).

Sorry for the commentary...it's something I think about a lot.

50%: Live (and swim and ride) in Connecticut; work (and run) in Midtown NYC; and summer weekends (e.g., with attendant long rides and long runs) are spent on Nantucket.

The other 50%: road warrior in US and Europe. Have developed a certain expertise at convincing hotel security officers to open hotel pools very early in the AM.

The migration eastward from the New York metro area to the Islands is massive, as I am reminded every summer Sunday while creeping along I-95 in my car at a speed that seems slower than my marathon pace!

My ex-girlfriend went to UDel for her Masters in PT. I ran the turkey trot (5K) in 2002, my first race after a 4 year pack/day cigarette habit. The Deer Park Inn is pretty nice, good food and Guinness on tap. I drive around Newark when I do Diamondman, brings back a lot of memories.

I grew up in a small town, Oxford. About 15-20 minutes from Kennett Square. I think Chester is in Delaware county. We did play them in baseball though.

How old are you? I have relatives from Oxford. One of my cousins had a couple of distance records there for a while....I think until the mid 90s.

The Blakeys came through a tad later with the youngest graduating in 94.

The Pollocks were the second house on the left on Cheek Rd, off of 10 on the North side of town.

The Blakeys live on Tweed rd. near where the RR tracks and 272 meet.

I think Michael Pollock had the schol record in the mile and Carrie blakey may have had the school record in the tripple jump....though I'm pretty sure you guys had some insanely talented jumper come in since then.

Did you or he ever realize what a bad idea that was. You made it to the west coast, so it looks like you got out, but those were some pretty bad schools. I taught in North East High School for two years. There are a handful of good kids there (sounds like you were probably one of them) but those schools are really backwards. They pretty much do everything in their power to discourage kids from learning. I actualy figured out once that a child can pass a class with a 12 1/2% average based off of their dumb county grading policy.

Anyway, I'm ripping on your school.....so I'll stop. Did you play baseball? I know the cecil county baseball teams were incredible!

Good race! I thought it was really good race especially for being the 1st.

I always race clydesdale when its offered. BUT in retrospect it would of been nice to get 1st in Age Group. Im hoping I will be 195lb and wont qualitfy for Clydesdale next year! I just need to stay away from the Beer and Burritos.

I appreciated your selection ;-) as that was my 1st age group medal in a tri.

The event was very well run for a first attempt other than the fact I would have chose different roads. I talked to the RD and it seems like the county gave them inaccurate road construction timelines.

Next year I probably will volunteeer instead of race as I am signed up for IMLP, which is the week prior.

Hopefully LZ will be back so we will have another super close race to chose from.

I was there from......oh, shit....it was a long time ago........1977 to 1998. UVa cop from 1977-1986 and then again from 1997-1998.

I did lots of different things when I was there. Other then a cop/investigator and administrator.....Chief of Police, volunteer fire dept, volunteer dive rescue, National Ski Patrol at Wintergreen for 5 years, EMT, all that good stuff. Oh, yeah....the last 2 years at UVa I was assigned to the bike patrol.....paid to ride a bike. It was great!! I rode about 20 miles per shift 5x per week.

Lake Zurich is supposed to be back in 2007. Good luck in at LP, I may do that in 2008.
