boy, some of you folks need to work on your upper body strength. how big are you?
a silca full frame pump works pretty damn well for me. I agree that 110 psi on a mini pump probably is not too easy (but hat's the compromise you make with the "mini" part), but a silca can take it to 110 without hellish effort.
And then, I never would dream of riding 120 psi on a training ride or century ride, no matter which bike I'm on, even my race bike. it knocks all your fillings out with a rock hard ride. what's the point? does every second or watt count on a training ride? don't you
want to put out more watts?
then again, I do 95% of my training on a mountain bike off road and on a cross bike on road (with super fat 35c road tires), so i dont need or desire the super high pressures. I prefer the lower pressures as it is one heck of a lot more comfortable on the rump and hands and also takes extra watts to ride fast--great training. And easy to fill up with a hand pump when I flat (which is very, very rarely).
And then on race day, when I switch to a cervelo with narrow high psi tires, the contrast in speed and power required is amazing. I fly like a rocket. sort of fun...
Where would you want to swim ?
