What's the oldest piece of equipment you use?
We talk all the time about our new stuff but what is the oldest piece of equiptment or clothing you regularly use?

For me:

Look pedals circa 1987 (Currently on a 2004 Trek)

Reflective running vest circa 1989

A very heavy wieght polypro T-neck from about 1990 that still sees a few days use each winter.

Time pedals circa 1988. They have never let me down - great pedals. They may be heavier than the current models but they work like a charm and feel great.

The pedals are on my race bike. Trek Hilo 2000.

My 1995 Shimano R210 cycling shoes are about to be retired. Thinking of moving to the Specialized Carbon Road Pro's.

I built my fixie up w/ vintage campy c-record stuff I scoured off of e-bay. good fun, and aesthically perhaps the pinnacle of bike components. I have a first-gen delta brake and levers, so what is that, early 80's?

I own an early 80's Univega Supra Sport, Sun Tour components. lol

I bought this beast on e-bay for $50.00, paid $55.00 for shipping. About a year ago I loved indoor spinning and wanted to explore outdoor road biking/Tri. Did a 1/2 IM relay style last summer, a MS 150 ride, and have fallen in love with the sport. Now I'm in the market for a new road/tri bike since I have been bitten by the bug. If anyone is considering entering the sport I recommend this path. Beats spending large $$ to find out if you like a sport or not.

I am vintage 1989 so other then my body, I guess my oldest piece of equipment is my swim cap which is from the year 2002. My old bike was a 2001 Bianchi but I sold it a while ago.

I have a couple polypro shirts from about 1984 that I do not wear regularly, but do wear when the chill dips below zero. Unfortunately, the zipper on one broke last winter so their lifespan may be coming to an end.

1994 steel with lugs Bridgestone Road Bike. Rides like a Cadillac.

I use it for riding around town now with cyclocross tires on it.

But, initially rode it in sprint tri's when I restarted the sport. And, funny I've only ever increased my mph in a sprint by a 1/2 mile per hour compared to my Kestrel Airfoil or Fuji Marseilles.

My road frame is a 1991 Holland. The Cinelli bars on that bike must date to about 1986.

I have a Bridgestone cycling jacket from 1989 that is my single most prized cycling possession. It's still like new.

I recently went for a run in my 1982 University of Maryland "Intramural Champion" T-shirt (for basketball free-throw shooting)

Shimano Dura Ace pedals (Look cleat system) circa '89. They still work great, but I'm thinking about replacing them just for the hell of it. I'm about to convert my '87 Bottecchia (still built up with Campy Record and Mavic rims) into a fixie.

Hmmm. Man, I don't know. I have a love/hate relationship with equipment. I replace it all the time. To me, it is just passin' thorugh.
