Married 6 years (Valentines 98), with one wonderful little girl expected September 21 (my birthday).

Two great adopted pound puppies complete our little family.

I just can not wait to grab my little girl and bring her across a finish line.

It's not the size of the pencil but the way you sign your name. But from the looks of your blog, you can't sign shit. ;-)

Marisol, you left out your information in your request!

I'm (re-)married to a woman that looks like a twin of one of the Victoria's Secret models (so, yes, I guess you can say I have the body of a 30 year-old...even if it belongs to my wife). Have a 20 year-old son (the teenage years weren't a problem at all...he certainly was not the stereotypical teenager) that's a senior in college in getting an engineering/business double major, and a 28 month old daughter that dearly loves to jump on a mini-trampoline and can already read, but, more importantly, she's potty trained. Salvaged stray mutt dog to round out the bunch...I'm most like the dog.

Divorced from first wife after fifteen years. Living common law for seven years with woman who has also been divorced. We consider and call ourselves husband/wife and don't need another marriage contract or church wedding to prove it. Got a co-signed mortgage which is more of a legal commitment.

Live with three cats, two black labs and two part time kids from my first marriage (ages 15 & 20).

Benji has an eating disorder...eats everything...chairs, tables, remote controls, sandals and lives in a crate when we are not home...
Schatz as a serious obsessive-compulsive personality...runs after everything you throw, and has a terrible breath. Both are very hairy...

Well... I'm 42 (but look 32), divorced (happily and friendly with my ex), no girlfriend (but I envy Simon) two beautiful young children (boy and girl), one dog (we just call "crazy dog"), one neighborhood cat (I think he has three different names depending on which house you ask), and my kids did an inventory and we (the three of us) have 12 complete bikes, three unbuilt frames and lots and lots of wheels (can you have too many bikes and/or wheels?).

Did I mention I was single?

31, married (September will be 6 years), one 19-month old son. Two horrible little dogs (miniature daschund, Yorkie), two Burmese pythons and one 22 year old cockatiel (I got him when I was in the second grade). I live in the backwoods of south Georgia, where I work for the Southeast Health District as a tobacco use prevention health educator. Three bikes, if you count my old Schwinn mountain bike and my beater Cannondale that stays on the trainer. I also strum a guitar a little bit (and I mean a very little bit), but I still can't get an F chord right. Also work part time as a freelancer for a local newspaper and youth director at a local church.

Live in Ottawa Canada, the best Tri and XC ski town in North America where you can find gainful employment and not deal with hours of traffic(we have ~70-100 Ironman finishers every summer) and I just did a hard 90K ride BEFORE work this morning. Maybe I can get the opposite record of Tri_bri2.

25, married for 2.5 months to a wonderful triathlete. No kids, no pets - we are too busy (full time jobs and grad school for both of us) and too poor. I have one bike, he has a road, tri and mountain bike. He got the rode bike last year for himself for my birthday. If anyone can explain that logic I would appreciate it! ;)

First kid will be showing up in about 8 weeks, conveniently a few weeks after biggest race this year. 3 bikes. I do not run enough but enjoy cycling so much more. Looking to buy a house and a dog, in that order. Live in Boston, travel constantly for work.

42 years old, married for 19 years to a wonderful woman who supports everything I do. She actually pushed me into buying my Guru bike, even though I have a good road and mountain bike. 18 year old daughter entering her 2nd year of college and a 9 year old son who will enter 4th grade next week. My daughter is doing her 1st tri the 2nd week of September. My son had done 4 kids tri's. And finally 1 two year old Chesapeake Bay retriever. My wife was training to do Danskin, but had a auto accident which has resulted in ongoing back pain.

Hey Race4LV,

We were married on the same day!!!

We're (my bride and I) 44.

3 kids - 5 - girl, 3 - girl, and 1 - all boy. (we're working faster than you, but probably have less time :-))

8 bikes - I claim 2, but call several of them my wives so I don't look like I am over doing it. One has training wheels and 2 are trikes!

24th year of doing Tri's. So far, 135 Tri's (12 IMs), and mountain bike for fun. My recent wreck and separated shoulder is the 1st time I've been knocked out of a race (IMLP).

My wife is a textile scientist (former supplex and tactel product manager) and I am an attorney.

I can't imagine life being much better!

Live out side Rochester, NY and I love the 17 mi bike ride to the University where I am a biophysics professor.

But that has got to be more than most of you youngster want to know. There are, however, some other old farts on slowtwitch.

although I am not a big fan of bribery, this is what worked with my daughter.

She was exactly 2 1/2, and she is a girly-girl. She wanted to get her nails painted so I promised her for every sucessful "potty" she would get one nail painted. She never went in her diaper after that, and this started the day before a trip to DisneyLand.

Have you tried not letting her wear diapers at all? And that means no pull-ups. Let her wear pretty, fancy, frilly, girly undies. Chances are she will feel uncomfortable when they get wet, and may not like seeing her pretty panties get messed either.

Good luck, and sorry to the slowtwitchers who have no kids and were just grossed out :)

As clients go, Dan and Lew are at the top of the heap. I had the pleasure of representing them in their efforts to get the USOC to butt out of USAT's business regarding the petition. If all my clients were as good I might spend a little more time being a lawyer and a little less time being a MOP'er. Or not. Hell, no client could be THAT good.

Thanks for the idea. For a while we had a pretty good system working with her day care using a potty chart, giving her a star for every successful visit, etc. Lo and behold one day they all of a sudden went out of business, and we lost the momentum we had. We enrolled her in a new daycare, and we pretty much had to start from scratch. We bought her some "Barbie" panties that she really likes, but it hasn't kept her from doing the deed. The good thing about her new daycare is that they have community bathrooms, so she's getting a lot of pier exposure. We're hopeful the end is near.

BTW, I wouldn't worry about grossing out the 'twitcher's without kids. Rather, you're probably scaring them.

This is awesome. A singular "who are you" / "should I apply for the new USAT Exec Dir" / potty training tips thread! All we need to add is who has old bike shoes to donate, and in what size.

Male, 27, single, no kids or pets (2 godkids though)

===
We are in the process of potty training a 2yr old, and have found that it's best to let her run around without bottoms on at all. If she's wearing diapers/pull-ups, she'll go and then sometimes tell us. If she's wearing shorts or panties, she'll tell us, but not always in time. If she's not wearing anything, she almost always tells us with plenty of time to make it. It also helps to ask her regularly, and take her anyway if it's been a while. She can pretty much piss on demand. And of course, always back up successful trip to the toilet with lots of praise.

Full diapers are only for bedtime, and pull-ups when we go out.

PS - we got one of those Bissel "Little Green Machines" and it's worth its weight in gold for anyone with kids & carpet.
PPS - I have old bike shoes, size 42 (I think)

Speaking of letting her run around naked, one time I was sitting in a chair reading the newspaper, I look down at her and darn if she isn't growing a tail with a big smile on her face. finally posting, peer pressure does it every time...

25, engineering grad student, got my BS in engineering and was a nuclear engineer (still have the cool hard hat with my name on it) for a day before quitting to work at the local running store for a year. Possible 47K starting to $6.75 hr. Went back to grad school. Currently in school 40 hrs a week, started own graphic design company, work part time at running store, hella busy.

Been doing tris for 3 yrs or so, 1st kona last year, 1st Xterra worlds as well, finally getting fast. Hoping to qualify for age group worlds this year.

Great and beautiful (not to mention fast) girlfriend (remember the pink kestrel and the Tinman) who races as well, will be supporting her in kona this year.

3 bikes, Cannondale IM 5000, Cervelo Prodigy, Ibis Alibi mtnb with a Litespeed Niota mtnb on the way (please let it get here by Big Bear Xterra next week, anyone want to buy an Ibis Alibi hardtail size 18?). Bikes made possible/affordable by Gary's Bike World.

47 (as of June), single, never married... career builder type. No pets - Love pets but allergic to animals. 3 bikes.. road, tri, mtn.

Engaged to marry another 45 yo, never married ... career builder type also. I believe we are soon to be pigeoned holed as DINC's...Dble. Inc. No Children... or more appropriately... DINC-P's - Dbl. Inc. No Child. or Pets.

Strange thing is that we went to the same University at the same time and never met each other... although that's not as tough as it may sound ... the campus population was about 20,000.

The only thing that we seem to still have in common since we met is that we are still looking for that special someone. To us, it sounds like a decent reason to get married to me. :-)

BTW, is it wrong to marry a women just because she has indoor plumbing? :-)

Late, but finally chiming in:

30, currently un-employed (by choice), married to a fantastic women who happens to be a veterinarian, 2 bikes for me (1 road, 1 mtn), ditto for her. 3 pugs, 2 cats (soon to be 3) and 1 chinchilla. no kids, no plans to reproduce.

Formerly worked as a police officer prior to moving to LV, NV in May. Wifey suggested I take some time off to 'find myself' and train a bit. Sounded great to me. So, I sleep late, train all day and try to keep the house clean while she works. I was so tired of police work, it was absolutely time for a break. I think it's also time for a career change. But what's a liberal arts grad former cop to do, that's the question?

Finally...

37, divorced, refugee from the dot com meltdown. Currently in school to get my teaching credential.

2 kids (currently living w/ dad, their choice)

1 cat

I drive a minivan, which is great because it gets ok gas mileage, plus I can pretty much throw whatever athletic gear I want to in the back and go.

2 broken mtn bikes, one generic road bike... someday I'll upgrade.

41, happily divorced.

Two great young boys that are my best friends.

Other than two mortgages absolutely no debt. I even finished funding my kids college education. Own a camper that I use for vacations and going to regional tri's.

I will not remarry for a long time as dating is a lot funner. And cheaper too.

Sold all my bikes and now only have a Trek road bike and a Trek Mtb bike. I use the road bike for tri's including the IM distance.

37 as of today. It's my birthday. Will be married for 5 years this September, and first baby is due in September. Own 2 bikes. Wife does triathlons too, and is more disciplined about getting up in the morning. Am a former lawyer, and now work with my wife in our health oriented food manufacturing business. Do stand up comedy as a hobby.

I can't soak it all in. I really wanna get to know you guys but sooo many people.

Heres my stuff but I know that 92.6% of you won't see this, but it's for posterity.

30, married for almost 3 years, internal medicine resident, 2 bikes (one real one, and a fake used one, barely better than a huffy) no kids, yet ;) My wife runs, sort of started biking but can't swim to save her life, at least not yet ;)
