Re: ST demographics [ttram]
I doubt I fit the "average" for age (turning 60 in a week) or income (now retired, but was a career elem teacher, never getting above about $66K - in CDN funds).

Beyond age and income, I'm probably average in that I take multisport pursuits very seriously, and am constantly on the lookout for new advice/suggestions/techniques/equipment. That last part said, though, I am generally product-loyal, so I'm not often easily swayed to try something new.

I don't know how average I am about viewpoints. I am not all that opinionated, and am definitely not argumentative. I know a lot of STers are both highly opinionated and love a good cyber-scrap, but I'm not sure that they represent the average.

Personals -- Wife of 34 years, two "kids" (24 and 22), oldster dog, two small cars (Ford Focus wagon, Saturn something), live in a modest house in the country. Many, many degrees to the left-of-center politically/culturally/economically -- which I think further removes me from the average ST demographic profile.

Tri-related -- Cervelo, Hed, Saucony (via Newton, via Asics), DeSoto, Hammer. No flip turns, no Power cranks or meters, but a less-than-well-used Computrainer, a Compex that sees sporadic duty, and a mostly-forgotten Vasa. (Good use of rollers and Kurt Kinetic, however.) Bike and run are my strengths, swimming is not.
