Well I have just found out what i now hate about the staggered AG starts. Thought they were a great idea until now. We just missed most of the pros swim because we had to watch the overhead shots of AG'ers. Like when they go to commercial in the TDF with the full peleton going uphill, then come back with a break of 5 guys..

That's going to be a fast main pack... Sanders is going to have to bike his legs off just to get back in contact with the train.

Keinle closer to the front than expected. Others should be worried about that too

I agree, the others now have to put in that little extra effort to get up to him.

is it always easy to tell when somebody has abandoned his race ambition? no.

Seemed kind of obvious when Chrabot was looking back every few seconds to make sure Saunders was there.

Looks like some unfavorable currents on the swim, this did two things. Slows down the lead group and puts the chase group closer to them, and allows athletes that are usually marginal to be in that group. Keinle is a great example, he by far is in the best position of all the favorites. So much for his train pulling 3rd group up the road, they are on their own now..

Same here, just finished a ride (beautiful crisp fall day here) and then have hockey practice later in the afternoon. Will follow along with either some Sierra Nevada or Southern Tier Pumking, maybe nurse a scotch depending on my mood.

Good luck to all the STer's racing today!

Looks like Sanders tucked in with the women's main pack. Now the women are messing with the men's race! Only 8 min down to the main pack.

34 dudes within 3 minutes of each other out of the water. Then Sanders pretty far behind. He, and that whole group, have got lots of work to even have a chance

Ya Ralert is in good position too, what happened to the super swimmer chick? Jodie led the women but was over 4 minutes off the lead men, and she is waaay ahead of the chase group.
