So to answer your question, pretty darn well. Neither of us would ever dream of racing as "disabled", because that's an insult to people who are actually disabled.

Congrats to you and your friend on the amazing results.

Also, not sure it matters to you anyway, but I found the following post by AD interesting: http://triathleteracingwithra.wordpress.com/...as-a-paratriathlete/ I commend her and anyone else in racing under these conditions, as I'm sure you do as well.

Well RA (and ankylosis) is a recognized "eligible impairment" in triathlon and it's not like you just walk up a registed as a para athlete, you have to go through an evaluation process. And the ITU has different classifications and levels of impairment to account for the variety of impairments.

What about restless leg syndrome? Can I pull a Durazo and qualify to race against the disabled with that?

There was a thread a while ago witch got pulled, but essentially the OP asked if someone could call themselves a "professional triathlete" without a Pro or elite card. There was a certain amount of reasonable debate on both sides, IE people who have P-eng degrees or are doctors etc maybe saying that "professional" means barrier to entry via education, performance etc. others were saying that she has a massive marketing engine and that although her results aren't at a pro level she was achieving "brand value" for her sponsors, and therefore a "pro"

For me, I don't really care and I didn't post. Calling yourself a "pro" triathlete is not illegal, calling yourself an engineer or a doctor when you aren't is.

There was also debate on both sides of the "challenged athlete" qualification, IE missing a leg vs arthritis etc,

So…like I say reasonable debate on both sides….until Angela accused the OP of "hitting on her" on social media (Facebook to 10K plus followers) , the OP (and IIRC his wife) asked her to qualify her statements. She never did and the thread got pulled (on here) and she pulled the thread accusing him of hitting on her on FB, The OP is not anonymous on here.

Reasonable debate, on "pro vs real pro" or "challenged vs non challenged" etc up until that point. As I said I didn't get into it…people were making arguments on both sides.

(edit: not sure if she is banned because of that and unable to respond)

Not sure about that but if there was a classification for "intellectual impairment" that would qualify a large chunk of ST :) Again it is not as simple as ticking the paratriathlete box on the registration form, there is a pretty detailed process and list of impairments to become classified in a certain group.

Hey Maurice, I'm the OP from the original thread that was pulled. You're pretty spot on about how it played out. Debate on both sides and them she accused me on her FB page of me hitting on her so she dropped me as a friend. Like I mentioned, never met her.

She had been extremely critical of a friend of mine who just turned pro questioning his training, social media presence, race results, etc. here credentials are what exactly?

Earlier, someone mentioned her kind presence on social media. I get forwarded tweets regularly about her insults on various people and then she will either retract or remove her comments. Meds must take time to kick in.

Yes, my wife (and I) both asked her for proof or evidence that I ever hit on her. Crickets.

Eh well...she retired and no one really cares.

Working on her SAG card or sugar daddy it is.

Cam, I did call you out on my social media for hitting on me. Details of that being that I was at the UCSD pool where you saw me, made me feel uncomfortable with your conversation and body language and then that afternoon I deleted you off my FB. Then months later you sought a twitch hunt to discredit me or embarrass me?

With regards to me being "extremely critical" of a friend of yours that turned pro? That's silly, everyone knows I do not follow triathlon.

You get "Tweets forwarded" regularly about me? ... Thanks for being my biggest fan I guess?

And yes, I am actually qualified for my SAG card now.

And no, I'm not banned from ST, nor was I ever.

At the end of the day, I appreciate you trying to burn me at the stake, It's brought some much needed awareness and dialog to Rheumatoid Arthritis. So, to look at the silver lining, thank you for that I guess.

Cheers

It's the Holidays. Maybe many ST'rs are busy and/or just trying to be nice this time of year. But to the OP's original point....yes, kind off surprised three weeks went by since her post....especially considering the conversation created a few months back. A lot of opinions here and in the past. Angela, keep us posted how you are doing......and good luck with your next endeavors....and your health.

ok folks, she is back... and making a false accusation that I stalk her and made fake instagram accounts stalking her. she is trying to shame me on her facebook page, instagram, and her blog: https://triathleteracingwithra.wordpress.com/...3/roger-leszczynski/

I reported her but these social media services seem to be slow in taking them down. I dont care if she hates on me for my opinion on her. I am not happy she is using a photo of me with my wife, and making the false accusations .

and ideas how to proceed with this?

im guessing this is coming up 2 years later, as someone is trying to sabotage my efforts to run for a board position in my local tri club

Must be one hell of a club for someone to go through that much trouble to sabotage someone running for a board seat.

Good luck. Dealing with social media stuff like that has got to suck

Who is Angela Durazo and what is this about? Mind filling us in on what the backstory is so we don't have to read through the whole thread?

Don't really care to talk about this specifically...

But the options are pretty simple, if you are being "stalked" or are having "stalking" problems on the internet, then call the cops.

If someone is being falsely accused of something, and their reputation is being impacted then call a lawyer.

This is an interesting situation.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess it is not about your board seat....

You are the only one that knows what you did or did not do, and really I have no business asking or judging, but there seems to be a fine line between airing opinions on forums or other mediums and what other people may consider cyber-bullying.

While she seems to possibly have a history of jumping to conclusions, some of the responses she got from people that claim to know you are interesting to say the least. From an outsiders view, I am not sure who to believe after I have read through some of this information.

I agree with others that posted on here that if you feel you have been wronged its time to get an attorney.

agree with all you said. on the internet we rarely get the full story from both sides. slowtwitch will not solve this problem. an attorney can help.
