Grrrr. Lionel & Sebi with identical splits through 7 miles... Only 5 secs quicker than Jan.

This is almost the perfect set of allies Lionel could dream of having. 5+ min back is OK. Game is on //

It is more like 7+ minutes dev, dont forget Josh out there pulling the lead group towards him. And he is lengthening his lead from the swim it looks like, so putting a lot of pressure on some athletes to keep the pace high in that chasing group. This is going to make any catch happen much later than normal, I'm saying not until after the turnaround, if at all really. It may just be the lead group breaks up before any of those 3 even get there, then it is just picking off the strongest of the bunch..

GPS has Sebi and Lionel 4 minutes behind of Frodo.

Genetics load the gun, lifestyle pulls the trigger.

They caught right up to that big group, so potentially chicked from 5 mins back!

I said it in the lead up that it was 50/50 if they would make the catch on that group, actually I bet a dollar they would. Guess I just won that dollar!!!

Lucy went 48:48, Lauren 48:53, vs Lionel at 53:41 and Sebi at 53:44, acc to the Ironman web site results.

Looks like Sebi is moving past lots of dudes really fast. Wish I could see if he had people coming with him behind. He just chatted with someone... Could not hear the first thing he said but then he said, "It's a long way. Looks like Sanders just passed Sebi!

And we're back. Kienle using an aero-road helmet rather than full TT lid, and is riding past people like they are stood still. Just had a chat with someone as he went past

Flicking between the German and Red Bull coverage (German has no tech issues), they are both good productions. The main difference is the commentary - the German coverage pays much more attention to the splits and who is gaining on who.

This is going to be a great day...
I actually am getting the itch to do a long course race again...hopefully I'll be smart enough to stay away, but this is enticing.
