Looks like a new web site and a bigger push to social media and connectivity to smart phones, etc. Also is clearly an embargoed web site with embargoed products that will be announced at CES. Or so I'm guessing....

Live tracking on the 510 will be great for family and friends while racing.

How do we get around the no cellphone rule though? I assume the 510/810 syncs with your phone for the tracking feature to work.

What do you mean no cell phone rule? Maybe I misunderstanding your comment.

I am thinking during races, my wife and family could pull me up their smart phone or tablet and see real time info on a map.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm operating under the assumption the 510/810 would need to sync with your cellphone either on your person or on your bike in order to transmit/broadcast the tracking signal. In other words, the 510/810 can't broadcast the signal by itself.

Ahhh I get it. That would make a lot more sense.

Mothetf**kers!!!
Really? I was perfectly happy with my red 500. I don't need to spend ANY more money. Why? Dear god, curse the eyes of the Garmin designers children!

I had a similar thought. It hadn't even crossed my mind that I would ever be dissatisfied with my 500.

Why did I log on to ST today???

If you need to connect to a phone to use the tracking facility why would you not just use your phone as a computer in the first place. My understanding of the rules was that it was aimed at those using them as MP3 players.

Its also not healthy that I immediately go to the classifieds section first.

I'll sell my red/blk 500 and get the new 510. Next there's going to be a new 910...Grrrrrr, I wish I wasn't such a technology/gear head.

I love the "COPY REQUIRED"...aka, will someone tell the client to approve the copy already! I'm curious to see what additional advances the 810 has over the 800. Better touchscreen and UI?

Probably the new 510 use the same technology as the GTU-10

Looks like I will gift my 800 to the wife and pick up the 810!

What does the "Copy Required" mean? Is that just a place holder for something else they are going to put like "Training and racing" underneath?

Glad I held off a bit to buy my 500... Hopefully the price of the 500 drops and the 510 falls into the $250 price point...

yeah, I'm guessing the Bluetooth icon means it will use your phone's data connection to get weather, upload your gps points to garmin, and the social networking...

I'm guessing pretty soon, it's already active on the pull down list on garmin's actual site:

I've no doubt that it will have Bluetooth 4.0 BLE. A lack of BLE is a huge oversight on the Joule GPS.

OK. I must be really stupid since I own and did not know the Garmin 500 can produce HR graphs. At least that is what is showing in the picture above.

Yes the edge 500 can do it, its an okay feature, so does the 800.

You need to have a large enough data field setup (one that spans the length of the screen) to select it though.

The New Specialized Wind Tunnel
Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
Yes, Game Changer
