@marcag got me thinking about him recently when he mentioned he was returning from injury. He has been looking great. Its a shame my boy Gregoire got rolled, but what a great victory for Gee. He and his partner looked over the moon happy.

Happened to me, too, but I was bombing a hill in VT on my skateboard

Knock on wood, I haven't experienced that. My story is from a few years ago when my father in law was visiting and got nailed while riding by the Canadian Air Force (goose). It flew into him on his bike, knocked him off and concussed him. It was a pretty bad few days for him.

Sheesh, UAE's TdF team is outrageous.

Almeida, Ayuso, Pog, Politt, Sivakov, Soler, Wellens, Yates

It will be embarrassing if cycling Canada selectors don’t pick him

Anxious to see his TT

That was solid from Gee to get his first win.

Saw that Ferris is on the Watts Occurring pod, should be a good listen and highly entertaining.

Well, he got his highest 1minute power this year :-)

The pod was OK.

I was actually surprised that the pod wasn't great. I usually enjoy it, but it was just kind of, meh.

Gee must have known the Slowtwitch collective was calling him to win the stage. That's a heavy load to deal with, but he pulled through! ;)

I'm constantly a little off picking the up n comers. I picked Gee for the Maryland race last year (his strava koms in his pre race hit outs were nuts) - a quick word from Steve Bauer made me feel good about the pick and then I saw Skujins right before the start and I told him I picked Gee and he shook his finger and told me 'you pick Toms, I'm going to crush it today!' then he proceeded to drive the winning break with no Gee.
Good to hear he set a 1 minute record - that was a blistering finish with an extra kick.
pretty sure Gee is a national TT champ too, but I'm backing world champ Remco to put a little time into everybody before the big climbing starts.

I think I've had encounters with all the animals already mentioned (maybe not a canadian goose - I've definitely run over a chicken). I'll add groundhogs, chipmunks, snakes, and a cow for animals I've struck. Plenty of goats in the Pyrenees but I've been lucky with them. A couple super close calls with deer. I'm not sure if it's a blessing that we humans are able to so easily brush off close calls that do not result in any harm, but I'd likely wear my brakes out if close calls gave me the heebie jeebies like the first few rides after an actual crash.

Chatted with a now retired former training partner of Pogis who confirmed his Ferris status. Rides up Madone at 460 ish then makes sure he has all the local KoMs and does it with a smile and no one begrudges him or resents him for it.

Some dude who woke to like 10 of Strava's "Uh oh!" emails has to somehow at least secretly resent him.

Weird. On French Canadian TV they do an ad for the Olympics. They show Hugo and the "support him in Paris"....

UAE has an A-team Tour lineup, no weaknesses in their game (on paper, at least): Yates, Ayuso, Almeida, 1000 Solers, Sivakov, Wellens and the big man, Pollitt.
