Just want to get this in now....I predict The Colonel will win every race he enters this year, including Kona.

Frodo is just a couple of miles away from blowing this prediction clear out of the water!

From the live feed:

At mile 10, Frodeno's lead is now up to 1:32 over Sanders. Potts in 3rd at 2:03 and closing on Sanders. #IM703Cali

Sanders better hope he does not have to sprint against Potts for 2nd. Looks like the two pre race favorites are destined to take the top 2 spots, but still a horse race for 2nd/3rd.

Update: Potts now passing Sanders, it was a valiant effort..

All class by Jan when Potts was coming in. Pretty scary looking podium there! Hard to believe the calibre of talent there.

Long Chile was a silly place.

I just hope he has a better tire sponsorship then he had last year and can avoid all those flats he seemed to get in big races!

Big shout out for 4th, hometown boy Brent, good show.

Just how i picked the finish, and the field has been like this ever since it became a WTC race over a decade ago. Just a lot of pros itching to race either early season, or end of season down under, and who doesn't love coming to San Diego in the spring!!!

I think most people wouldn't mind coming to San Diego at any time of the year!

Good job on calling the podium!

SO looks like a 1;10+ for frodo and a 1;11+ for andy. Called that one too!! Really great race by the guys. And nice to see Lionel in there mixing it up long before the run starts. If he ever gets his swim down and doesn't have to burn so many matches on the bike, he is going to be a real contender for wins at just about any race 1/2 and up..

As much as I hate the coverage, they did mention earlier that Potts' chip wasn't reading at the timing mats.

Long Chile was a silly place.

I saw that and thought "Well I guess I'm not the only one who takes that long in transition! Sweet!"

Its funny, I seem to remember his chips not working at other races too. Maybe he is like these AG'ers i use to race who would wipe off their numbers, so no one would know what AG they were in. It was just too funny, like I was not going to recognize guys I have raced dozens of times before. Maybe a strong magnet just before the race to the old chip, and you are stealth!! (-;

Clearly they have an advantage. Just ignore what Symonds was wearing last week...

Ha! Pretty much!

I got up late, looked outside to see it windy and rainy so I wussed out of my morning group ride to follow the "coverage" instead. Still sitting here, drinking coffee out of my IM Whistler mug now :P.

Long Chile was a silly place.

His chip was fine. That was my fault. I frigged up a setting on one of the timing systems and missed a read for him.

I kind of like Monty's theory of intentionally tampering with his chip a little better so I'm just going to run with that.

How much did Potts pay you to "frigg up"? HOW MUCH!!
