Don't be so butthurt that your P5 is no faster than a P2 with fast bar.

But if all the other bars are stacked up & the p5 bar is right on the base bar you can't be sure.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

I have no insights but looking at how tri bikes are set up on race day and in training, it seems that the low hanging fruit is in the set up. I see many great features on several bikes (e.g. internal bladder for the shiv, integrated storage boxes, completely internal cabling, etc). I hope more manufacturers make this a priority. I end up having to do a lot of McGyvering to get my flat repair, nutrition and computer requirements just right. As I fly to races sometimes, taking everything apart and putting it back together in less than 2 hours is a challenge. Making a faster frame/fork/aerobar may be tough but making a faster race-day tribike just needs a few folks looking at the obvious.

The two things that intrigue me about that bike are the integrated hydration (saw one at St. Anthony's) and the possibility of running a deeper front wheel with less of a handling penalty.

I've seen some Ventum athletes using a Torhans Aero 20/30 on the front instead of the integrated hydration.

The pro (Kaye?) who had it at St. Anthony's was also using a Torhans out front but, IIRC, she said that's because the frame bottle was 3D printed plastic and not food-safe.

Uggh.....I keep trying and trying but I just can't bring myself to like that bike. I just find it ugly. I know I know...."who cares what it looks like if it is fast" but just because this says Porsche doesn't mean I would ever get caught dead driving it.

The LEAST they could do is at least paint up the water bottle so it doesn't look like it was an afterthought. Every picture I've seen of this thing you have a reasonable black/red paint scheme with this freagin ugly gray bottle on the top.

They have new colored bottles. I've seen blue, orange, black, red, and white

Black might work. At least with the Falco V the bottle looks like it was designed with the bike.

I've seen it in person. It doesn't photograph well AT ALL and their paint schemes don't help it. It actually has striking lines. The only seriously "meh" part is the fork/cockpit.

I agree that it looks better in person than in pics but not by much IMO....I still don't find it appealing at all. Then again, I ride a Shiv which many people find ugly so to each their own.

WOW...someone is a Ventum fan, having a stockpile of photos with all of the different bottle colors at the tip of their fingers. ha ha ha. Ok ok much better with some of the other color bottles. They just need to trash the gray bottle, it looks like something you'd find at the Dollar Store. Still...even though you have made a good argument with some of the other photos, as far as non-conventional tri-bikes go, at least in the looks department I still feel it pails in comparison to the Dimonds or the Falco V. Just my opinion though...again, to each their own :)

haha I never said I was a fan. I just love bikes and I've seen these photos from Facebook, Twitter, Lava Magazine, Slowtwitch, and other sources so I knew where to find them to show you. I think it's an interesting design and I look forward to seeing the data

Even if it is close, I'm buying. I am not good enough for a few watts to matter.

Give me a 914 with a Subaru 4 and I'd be a happy man. I actually kind of like the 914 shape. The ventum though, ehhh...

The frame itself I think looks fine... I don't know wtf is going on with those cockpits though.

A man of exquisite taste! I can't decide on the Ventum though

The one complaint I have with the Ventum is no storage space for nutrition. Where can I put a Dark Speedworks bag?

Ok taste, I do kinda like the 914 shape actually. But why a subaru flat 4, when a small block chevy fits fine.

I'd take either, I'm not picky. I've read more about Subaru conversions as I seem to recall that the kits were cheaper.

I'm guessing people use Subaru 4s as the 165hp would be sufficient, the boxer engine is a better "match" and it is lighter.

Back to bikes... In my best regular car review voice "this bike is best because integrated hydration."
