Road deaths are probably high there relative to road use.

In terms of fatalities to population, you’re more likely to be killed in a road accident in the U.S. (6 times the population, nearly 10 times the fatalities) than in Kenya. Then again, Britain has less than half the deaths that Kenya does despite a slightly higher population (and much much bigger traffic).

I think you need to look at the cars to people ratio as well to assess safety.

Cars to pop USA = 85%
Cars to pop Kenya = 8%
Cars to pop UK 48%

Cars are dangerous. Dangerous to those in them, dangerous to those near them. Only kid from my HS who didn't make it to graduation also died in a single-car car crash (and another kid came close to not making it), and I don't think that's unusual for the US.

Why are you guys talking about Kenya as a whole? They just said this specific road is dangerous, which is jotting about the general dangers of driving in Kenya.
