Tom isn't confused. Here are the options as I see them:

He is either:

1) not listening

2) not interested

3) selling lots of Tufos

4) dumb as a rock

5) Trolling

6) too lazy to read the reams of data available from dozens of sources

7) Really, really determined to watch his credibility as a source of reliable gear information go straight down the toilet.

I can get about 3 tires out of a tube of glue. I put two thin coats on the tire, two on the rim - let em dry (usually over night) - then apply the tire to the rim. Pre-strech your tire.

And another no vote for the Tufo tape - that stuff is a horrid mess when you need to change your tire. Sure, in a race it would be good to apply a spare, other than that I dont get it. It is super thick too...

"I'm still confused on this TUFO thing. I did IM NZ, Nice, IMCA and about 20 other races on them. No issues. Good bike splits.

Seriously, why should I be concerned? "

I don't understand your brain then, Tom. You have mentioned numerous times how you feel that not riding a disk cost you significant time at IMNZ. Why shouldn't the differnece in tires be as much of a concern as the difference in wheels? From the data collected so far it looks like Tufo vs any other tire, especially premium clinchers, would cost a lot more time than disk vs 404 or whatever you had. What's your logic?
