Correct. I have the pad angle on my Speed Concept maxed (~15 degrees) so it's actually quite comfy and very secure. If you can't tilt your pads, try much thicker pads to start (think Ceegees). I've seen people get creative with angled washers for their P5s with the stock base bar. I'm sure you could probably rig up a similar solution for your IA.

I used these extensions from Profile Design. I bought mine on eBay for ~$20. I've since bent my own extensions which I'll do a post on when I get the time.
