One more vote for Toughman NY. I didn't get to race it due to injury, but really liked the venue and the area. Very pretty, and a pretty short drive to NYC if you want to do some fun things while you're in the area.

There is now a Lake Placid 70.3 in September. Most races in the Northeast are hilly, except for Eagleman and Atlantic City

Used to be Mooseman. Ironman bought it and killed it.
Then it was Timberman. Ironman bought it and killed it.
Now I guess Patriot. I hope they don't sell it it Ironman.

Thanks for suggesting Barrelman...and the dollar exchange is still about 20% against the US Dollar. We hope some to the SlowTwitch group joins us on September 17th. If you do, please say hello. Here is a little of what the race is like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4tJrdumE_E

I too, find it hard to imagine, that there is a better 70.3 race/venue anywhere in the region. And the support from the locals is top notch.

How cold is the water for this race? I imagine very cold, but no one complains about it.
