Hi,

I was like you a year ago. I found this website http://www.posetech.com/ I read the book and watched the video and ultimately found a style that was not true Pose but right for me (and works too). I strengthened my calves quite a bit to handle the load but have not looked back. Running is easier for me and I have set pr's all across the board this year. Increased training has had something to do with it but the style of running I now use (basically a mid-foot strike) with a turn-over not quite to Pose standards works for me. Good luck...

SaskRV already mentioned Dreyer.

Also, POSE, evolutionrunning, etc.

If you are willing to do a search for the terms above "chirunning" "POSE" "evolutionrunning", you will find a lot of discussions addressing your question.

Is evolutionrunning (Ken Mierke) worth the money? http://forum.slowtwitch.com/...on%20running;#466955

Opinions on Pose running? http://forum.slowtwitch.com/...ose%20method;#271301

OUt of curiousity on the subject I searched and found the two links above ...

Official links follow:

Pose: http://www.posetech.com/

Evolutionrunning: http://www.evolutionrunning.com/

-------------------------

I, personally, am going to order evorun book and DVD after my race. I have chirunning, but that whole deal (the chi stuff) just ain't me. I've read a lot on the net abour Pose. The basic fundamentals of form are similar ... I am interested in some of the scientific differences between the methods that Ken talks about at this site (included in the link I posted).

A couple things that are helping me improve my technique are the Meirkle DVD and book Run Training for Triathletes. Also, running with a metronome set to 180 bpm is really helping my technique. At first I could not keep up with the metronome, but now it is coming naturally. Also, Endurance Films has a DVD called "The Science of Triathlon" which has a great session with Joel Friel on running technique. Friel said that with some runners, simply increasing cadence may improve all the other aspects. Four weeks of Gradually changing my technique, upping my run frequency, while decreasing the length of my runs and their intensity seems to be showing some results.
