Dude, that back and neck pain is the sound of the voice of Xterra calling you!

Good luck in New Mexico, don't forget the pics on your return and have a Margarita for me!

Xterra.... Hmmm.... That would be cool. I'm trying to hold off on adding mountain bikes to the equation, though. I have six bikes right now not including toys, as well as one slated for Spring '08 and one for Spring '09 (replacing current ones in the stable).

I don't think I can afford to house more bikes.

6? What kind of a number is 6? Now 7 that's a significant number or 8 THE lucky number I could understand ;-)

I'm at 7 if you count the chopper, and 8 if you count the unicycle... (although that's really 7.5) I tend not to. They're toys. Also, it helps me to sound a tiny bit less ridiculous. Unbuilt frames (1) don't count for anything, nor do bikes given to Jen. I'm at six, goddammit!

Of course, it wouldn't help to state that you are idyllically sited to get into mtb riding would it!

Did you sort out your bike and wheel storage problem?

Sort of. I have a stand that holds 4. The track bike lives at the track. And the rat leans up on whatever. The wheels aren't sorted just yet, but I don't want to put a whole lot of effort into it, as I'm hoping to move within a year. So far it's "manageable", but far from ideal.

I got this bad boy from Performance Bike:

You can get "mini arms" for the back side, and hold up to 4 bikes in almost the same amount of space. Hard to beat for ~$100...

That's really cool! It makes the bikes look like a piece of art. Definitely could go in a living room.

(my mom makes my bike live in the basement, poor thing. it is so dark down there and no windows for her to peer out of!)

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.

Hey Karen, how's the comeback coming on? I'm going to be over in Virginia for the Xterra 17th June and on Van city and following week. It would be cool to meet up for a chat/swim over a snack maybe a Roti after Sasamat!

Glad to hear you'll be over in my neck of the world. The swim and rotti sound wonderful so keep me posted as you get closer to YVR.

The come back is coming albeit it slowly. I'm consistent now with my sbr and core training but I seem to only be swim fit these days. I keep checking back on my log from last year and I'm not floundering that badly. March 2006 I was out with a back injury so anything I do in March 2007 is bonus on last years training.

My swimming is feeling really great right now but the sad thing is the coaching ends in May and then I'm left to fend for myself. Hopefully I'll keep it together but heck I can't worry about it now.

I'm curious about my half IM. Last year the swim and bike sucked but I pulled off a nice run (my version of course). I hope my biking will be back by then, and my running too. Only time will tell I guess.

Keep in touch perhaps with an e-mail or pm.
