I never had cramps/spams or whatever those awful things are until the last month or so. Never. Before, I always wondered why people would whine and sometimes jump out of the pool grabbing their calves. Babies!
Well, now I'm a baby. I literally can't go more than 1000y in a workout without toes, arches, and a calf or two going into major freakout. My favorite is when I jump up out of the pool and one calf (a random selection) contracts so painfully that it's sore for days afterward. Note: I NEVER get sore calves from running/riding/anything.
This never happens on the bike or during a run, regardless of length. Almost never when not in the pool (it may rarely hit a hamstring if I pull my foot up against the bottom of my chair too hard at work or something).
It's not limited to when pushing off. I have felt my toes start to go during an open water swim.
What is up????????????
